Gel-free Duct Cable

This is an outdoor communication cable with a non-metallic FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic glass) or PE-coated FRP central strength member and non-armoured structure. The optical fibres are housed in loose tubes that are made of high-modulus plastic and filled with water-blocking yarns. These loose tubes are stranded around the central strength member to form a cable core. The core is covered by water-blocking tape to prevent water ingress in the cable. The cable core is surrounded with thermoplastic sheath making the cable robust and installation-friendly.

Application

This cable is suitable for long-distance communication networks, including telephone networks, fibre optic cable television networks, and the internet backbone thanks to its high bandwidth capacity and long transmission distance.
Gel-free duct fibre optic cable is commonly used in industrial automation, remote control systems, and monitoring systems in oil and gas facilities, pipelines, and power plants to transmit critical data and control signals over long distances.

Product Benefits

The PBT loose tube material has good hydrolysis resistance.
The tube is filled with water blocking yarns to prevent water ingress into the fibre optical cable.
The fibre optic cable has excellent flexibility and bending resistance.
The cable has an all non-metallic structure, light in weight, easy to lay, and excellent in electromagnetic resistance.
Smooth outer sheath enables the optical cable to have a smaller coefficient of friction during installation.
